SITE : New front page

If you're reading this, you've probably already seen it and found the 'B' button to bring you back to this blog, but anyway.

I've made a new front page for the site. It features all my music releases, with links to their bandcamp pages (by clicking on the album artwork) and to places like iTunes, Amazon and Spotify where applicable.

Right now, it's only Quixotica which is up on other sites. Soon, though... Well. There's a few 'coming soon' images on that there front page... I wonder what they could be teasing?..

NONSENSE : The Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 Timeline Diagram

I should probably link to this here. It was on reddit, and it was getting lots of comments and upvotes before it was removed...

Behold, the stupid timeline diagram for Paul Blart Mall Cop 2! (Click to expand)

This was inspired by legitimate timeline diagrams for complex films like Primer and Interstellar. It also got linked by Kermode and Mayo on facebook. It was getting all the views before it got removed from reddit... just imagine what could have been...

No, I'm not bitter.

LIVE : SuperByte Festival September 10th - 13th

It's live music o'clock!

Well, it will be in a few months. I shall be playing the excellent Manchester based Chiptune festival, Superbyte!

The other artists announced so far include Rymdkraft, Galaxy Wolf, Ctrix and Cambridge's own unfortunately-named Mr Spastic (He's American, it's not his fault) among others. It's sure to be an excellent weekend!

In other news, I accidentally released a new free download synthwave thingy. I will hopefully add more tracks to the echoHeart compilation in due course.

For now though, enjoy these two retro treats :

MUSIC : One With Everything

Although I use abandonedsheep.com to update you all on my musical endeavours, my profession in life is an animator in the games industry.

Last year I started working with Mode 7 Games on their new game, and this year I became a full time member of the studio.

The game in question is Frozen Endzone and it was made available to pre-order today (with immediate access to the beta). People have been playing the game all day and streaming on sites like twitch and it seems to be going down a storm. Hurrah!

To celebrate this, I've decided to kick off a sale on my bandcamp store. You can get any album or EP for £1 (down from £4 for albums and £2 for EPs) from now until sometime on Sunday evening.

Not only that, but I've just added a complete works of Binster thing, which I already have pangs of embarrassment over calling "One With Everything". It includes all the tracks from my two albums and EPS, plus the tracks I solo produced for the _ensnare_ collaboration album "Binary Opposition", and an old .mpegasus album from approximately 9 years ago.

Now is the perfect time to get the complete works of Binster! Tell your friends and et cetera!

LIVE : Gig in Northampton, UK on the 26th November

Ooh crumbs, chief.

I'm playing a live gig. I've never done this before, so it'll be interesting. And possibly disastrous.

I'm supporting the ace gothic rock band The Agonal Trace and will be playing stuff from Abandoned, the Part Man Part Machine EP, and the upcoming Broken Lighthouse Initiative EP so that'll be nice.

The time? Saturday 26th November. The place? The Labour Club, Charles St, Northampton. £2 on the door.

Thank you

Hello everyone!

Thought I'd just pop up a thank you to everyone who's listened to, bought and or shared links to my album and new EP.

I shall reward your support with new music. On that note, there are interesting things afoot. Hopefully I will have a new EP completed before the end of the year (although I am quite slow at finishing things - I'll just try harder than usual).

On top of that, I hope to embark on an exciting collaborative project with a fellow electronic monster. More news on that when things start happening.

And on top of on top of that that, there should be a little bit of A Scholar And A Phyisican Presents magic happening sometime soon. For those not in the know, these are albums organised by Oli (A Scholar) and Steve (A Physician) and involve loads of indie music types making music for a themed compilation. The last one was in 2004, so a new one is long overdue.

Whew! Oh, also I have a new game remix in the can. It's for a remix project, so more on that when it's being released.

Cheers all, and thanks again for support!

5) Dick, You're Fired!

Five tracks of bouncy upbeat fun, topped and tailed with a pair of RoboCop inspired tracks with some classics in the middle. Yours for £3 for the whole thing, or 80p per track, in 320kbps and flac and whatnot.

MUSIC : Abandoned on BandCamp

I've just added Abandoned to BandCamp.

Abandoned - The Album

The album is available for download in exchange for £3.50 (or more if you're feeling generous). This gets you the album in spiffing quality (flac and wav and that) with a few extras, like printable album art and a super secret extra bonus track...

(By the way, don't worry that the track listing is different on Soundcloud and Bandcamp - when you buy it on Bandcamp all the tracks you know and love are there.)

The album is still available for download in lower quality on soundcloud for free.

VIDEO : Vimeo

I've got a Vimeo account.

I've not done a thing with it since I got it, so I thought I'd do a thing with it.

Broken Lighthouse Initiative - WORK IN PROGRESS from Martin Binfield on Vimeo.

It's only a WIP, (although it may be pretty close to the final thing) but in the video you can hear Broken Lighthouse Initiative. That photo was taken by me, also.

Enjoy!

SITE NEWS : New links

Attention all! Vaguely pointless little update this, but I've added a few links to the side bar, in the Personal Section.

You can enjoy the random madness that is my Youtube favourites list - be prepared for a lot of kitten videos - and the utter inanity of my extremely uninformative Twitter feed - be prepared for nothing spread out over eternity.

That's all - back to your lives, people, nothing to see here!
