SITE : New front page

If you're reading this, you've probably already seen it and found the 'B' button to bring you back to this blog, but anyway.

I've made a new front page for the site. It features all my music releases, with links to their bandcamp pages (by clicking on the album artwork) and to places like iTunes, Amazon and Spotify where applicable.

Right now, it's only Quixotica which is up on other sites. Soon, though... Well. There's a few 'coming soon' images on that there front page... I wonder what they could be teasing?..

NONSENSE : The Paul Blart Mall Cop 2 Timeline Diagram

I should probably link to this here. It was on reddit, and it was getting lots of comments and upvotes before it was removed...

Behold, the stupid timeline diagram for Paul Blart Mall Cop 2! (Click to expand)

This was inspired by legitimate timeline diagrams for complex films like Primer and Interstellar. It also got linked by Kermode and Mayo on facebook. It was getting all the views before it got removed from reddit... just imagine what could have been...

No, I'm not bitter.

MUSIC : One With Everything

Although I use abandonedsheep.com to update you all on my musical endeavours, my profession in life is an animator in the games industry.

Last year I started working with Mode 7 Games on their new game, and this year I became a full time member of the studio.

The game in question is Frozen Endzone and it was made available to pre-order today (with immediate access to the beta). People have been playing the game all day and streaming on sites like twitch and it seems to be going down a storm. Hurrah!

To celebrate this, I've decided to kick off a sale on my bandcamp store. You can get any album or EP for £1 (down from £4 for albums and £2 for EPs) from now until sometime on Sunday evening.

Not only that, but I've just added a complete works of Binster thing, which I already have pangs of embarrassment over calling "One With Everything". It includes all the tracks from my two albums and EPS, plus the tracks I solo produced for the _ensnare_ collaboration album "Binary Opposition", and an old .mpegasus album from approximately 9 years ago.

Now is the perfect time to get the complete works of Binster! Tell your friends and et cetera!

MUSIC : New .mpegasus album "Quixotica" released!

At the end of 2011, under the name .mpegasus I collaborated with _ensnare_ on a chiptune/fakebit album which you can hear over here. It was a lot of fun, so once I had finished the Broken Lighthouse Initiative EP I started work on an .mpegasus album proper.

Many months later, it is done! A 10 track bouncey-thing of an album, I hope you enjoy it.

To celebrate its release, the new album will cost £3 (normally £4, so that's 25% off), and I've dropped the price of everthing else on bandcamp to £1. The live albums are still free, of course.

Here's the set on bandcamp :

And here's the album in its entirety on youtube, with a clickable tracklist :

Hope you all enjoy it!

MUSIC : Broken Lighthouse Initiative EP

New EP released!

Here's the new tracks, available to buy from binster.bandcamp.com

I also made a silly floating robot orb thing for music video purposes. Here's the youtube set :

An earlier version of the title track, Broken Lighthouse Initiative, was previously released by reuniverse.org - head over for lots of amazing free electronic music!

If you've bought one of my releases previously, you'll have a lovely surprise in your email inbox. If not, please consider supporting my musical endeavours - I like to think that I treat my fans better than average :)

Thank you all!

VIDEO : Max - Cat Controller (music by .mpegasus)

It's always nice when someone emails you out of the blue asking if it would be ok if your music were to feature on their short film.

It's even nicer when, as is the case with Cat Controller by Anthony Carpendale, it turns out to be whimsically brilliant. I might even bust out my favourite word to describe it : Quixotic.

The track in question is Troll Physics from "Binary Opposition" my fakebit chiptune collaboration with _ensnare_ from the end of last year.

LIVE : Northampton Labour Club August 2012

Heads up!

I'll be playing my second ever live gig, supporting The Agonal Trace again, in the same venue as last time - Northampton Labour Club.

I'm going to try being a bit more daring this time, so it might all end in tears. Hopefully, I'll get another recording to put up for those of you who can't make it.

GENERAL : Movember

I grew a moustache for Movember. I took a photo of it everyday. Then I turned it into an animated gif. The results are included below in the interest of providing mirth.

LIVE : Gig in Northampton, UK on the 26th November

Ooh crumbs, chief.

I'm playing a live gig. I've never done this before, so it'll be interesting. And possibly disastrous.

I'm supporting the ace gothic rock band The Agonal Trace and will be playing stuff from Abandoned, the Part Man Part Machine EP, and the upcoming Broken Lighthouse Initiative EP so that'll be nice.

The time? Saturday 26th November. The place? The Labour Club, Charles St, Northampton. £2 on the door.

Thank you

Hello everyone!

Thought I'd just pop up a thank you to everyone who's listened to, bought and or shared links to my album and new EP.

I shall reward your support with new music. On that note, there are interesting things afoot. Hopefully I will have a new EP completed before the end of the year (although I am quite slow at finishing things - I'll just try harder than usual).

On top of that, I hope to embark on an exciting collaborative project with a fellow electronic monster. More news on that when things start happening.

And on top of on top of that that, there should be a little bit of A Scholar And A Phyisican Presents magic happening sometime soon. For those not in the know, these are albums organised by Oli (A Scholar) and Steve (A Physician) and involve loads of indie music types making music for a themed compilation. The last one was in 2004, so a new one is long overdue.

Whew! Oh, also I have a new game remix in the can. It's for a remix project, so more on that when it's being released.

Cheers all, and thanks again for support!

GENERAL : December 2009 update

The best laid plans...

The speed album project, which I mentioned in the last post, did not come to bear the fruit of a full albumsworth of music. So, apologies on promising you that.

On the plus side, the title track "Anisometric" does sound nice, so I'll finish that off and put it up for download soon.

Also, one of the other tracks worked well and with a little tweaking is working nicely as a new version of one of the large amount of old tracks which I like, but want to rework. Expect a FutureKill update soon, too!

Other than that, not much to report. Carry on!

GENERAL : November 2009 update

Not posted for a while, so post I shall.

I've embarked upon a "write an album in a month" project. It shall culminate at the end of November in a free to download album which I'm pretty certain will be called "Anisometric". So far, two tracks are on the go. Expect more. Expect a cover version of something too. :)

Otherwise, the High Eight "Thru Time" remix is still awaiting release, and along with that there's talk of Realism getting a release, but more info on that as and when.

Also, I'm working on a new game remix. More info on that, also, when the time is right.

And finally, I've added a link to the Personal Links side bar, which takes you to my Hobnox profile page. I've only just signed up, so I'm not sure what the dillyo is but I expect you'll be able to find my usual tracks up there for streaming.

Happy Bonfire Night!

SITE NEWS : New links

Attention all! Vaguely pointless little update this, but I've added a few links to the side bar, in the Personal Section.

You can enjoy the random madness that is my Youtube favourites list - be prepared for a lot of kitten videos - and the utter inanity of my extremely uninformative Twitter feed - be prepared for nothing spread out over eternity.

That's all - back to your lives, people, nothing to see here!
